What is the dosage and how should it be used?

Bromhexine is available as syrup, drops and tablets in various pack sizes and dosages for children and adults.

The most recent product launch is a syrup that taste of strawberry. It is meant especially for children and can be taken from 2 years and upwards.

The recommended doses for adults and children are stated below:

- Adult and children over 12 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
- Children 6-12 years: ½ tablet 3 times daily.
- Children 2-6 years: ¼ tablet 2 times daily.

Bromhexine is not recommended for children under 2 years of age without medical advice.

Please be aware that over-the-counter remedies such as Bisolvon® are recommended to be taken for about one week in the case of adults and older children who are normally in healthy condition.
